Description

Do you want to know how to build great breaks with bisques?
Do you want to know how to build great breaks without bisques?
Do you want to know how to play all-round error-free breaks?

If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, then this book is for you!

Roger Mills’ first book, Getting Maximum Bang for Your Bisques, broke new ground, giving direction to every player wanting to use their bisques effectively to build and run 4-ball breaks. The great innovation was the Bisque Break Test – three simple questions that tell a player not only if they have the opportunity to build a break, but also the number of bisques they will need and how to use them to build the break.

But then, having mastered building breaks with bisques, players wanted more! They wanted to know what to do next? How could they build great breaks without those little white sticks? How could they get their handicap down to a low single figure number? How could they reach Croquet Nirvana – that state of consistently completing all-round error-free breaks?

This is what you will find in Bisques, Breaks and Beyond. It is two books in one. Everything from Getting Maximum Bang For Your Bisques is here (completely rewritten to make it even simpler to use), combined with an entirely new section, Beyond Bisques, devoted to core skills that will enable you to hone your breaks and get you on the right track for the next stage of your croquet journey.

There is an accompanying ePractice Pack available with diagrams and notes for 30 lawn practice exercises. Load it to your phone, iPad or tablet, and take it with you to the lawns to make your practising easy and effective.

Here’s what the top coaches think:

Dave Kibble, International Coach
“Highly readable … it will help you win many more games. It’s packed with examples to get you thinking, all accompanied with coaching notes so you’re never left alone scratching your head.

The diagrams are all impressively clear, and it feels like a personal coaching course.”

James Hawkins, Author of ‘Complete Croquet’
“There’s some fresh thinking here, and Roger Mills has a reassuring way of flipping the reader’s mindset away from the frustrations of the underdog towards a confident winning strategy.

It’s a valuable resource for the club coach, the ambitious novice, and experienced players wanting a competitive edge.”

Here’s what readers think:
“This book is extremely well presented, with clear text and excellent diagrams. I have never seen better.”

“Excellent and very readable.”

“The exercises get you thinking and reinforce your learning. The tone is chatty – you can almost hear Roger talking directly to you.”

This is the perfect book for aspiring AC Players. It is beautifully presented and very user friendly.”

  1. Roy H

Written in a conversational style the tactics are easy to understand and it really does what it says in the title. Valuable information for those of us with a few bisques.

  2. Frank C

Great book for ideas and learning curve.

  3. David W

Well written, simple to understand, very clear in the detail. One criticism, it’s not just for learners and mid range handicappers, single figure players would benefit too! Brilliant, the best I’ve ever read since I took up the game over 15 years ago.

  4. Alan M

Helpful book in using bisques to establish break opportunities.

The effect if brexit is making it impossible to buy from you: extremely expensive delivery charges lead to further vat charges here, even though books are zero rated it will be Amazon next time, I’m afraid.

Instructive and practical thinking. Mark Suter was exceptionally helpful and very pleasant to deal with, a great customer communicator. Thankyou

For aspiring and inspiring AC beginners and intermediate players my opinion is that this book is a very useful guide, both to learn how to play game from the beginning with angles and triangles, visual concepts, behaviour of balls when touching, through to skilfully honing one’s use of the mallet for delicacy of touch and speeds, distances, priorities and overall strategic thinking – a truly challenging game – an excellent study.

looks like a good buy. Contents good. just a suggestion; some information about Short Croquet tactics.
Would have been better if I could have figured out how to get discount using my membership.

Oh what an amazing book, I cannot fully explain how it has transformed my game. Such a great read and so easy to follow and transfer all the information to the game. I really cannot recommend this book highly enough, its a must read for everyone who wants to improve their game.
